Breast Cancer Awareness

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month.

I support Breast Cancer Awareness because I have a family member who has suffered. We have to find a cure!

Swiffer supports Breast Cancer Awareness by partnering with Cleaning for a Reason, an organization that works with more than 1,000 local and professional maid services to bring meaning to cleaning by helping women focus their energy on fighting cancer. Since 2006, the partner maid services have volunteered their time to clean for over 17,000 women. They offer four cleanings to women with any cancer, once a month for four months.

Swiffer has created pink products, which you can pick up at Walmart. Or you can win them in this great giveaway hosted by Drugstore Divas and A Bride On A Budget. Two lucky winners will win a prize pack with a $25 Walmart gift card, plus items from Crest, Bounty, Oral B, Olay and Pantene, as well as a Swiffer Duster.

This giveaway starts now and ends at 11:59pm EST on October 13. To enter, you must be a US resident who is 18 or older. The winner(s) will be contacted via email and will have 24 hours to respond before another winner is selected.

It was scary and we had to convinced her to go to the doctor for months! She finally got the courage and went. Doctors took out the tissue and found out she had nothing to worry about. It was benign but we got lucky this time. Some people are not that lucky and Cancer Awareness is so important to make people understand even a few days/weeks can mean a life or death decision.

My great grandmother had breast cancer so my grandmother (her daughter and my sister & I's guardian) made sure we knew at an early age the dangers of breast cancer and the importance of getting tested. My grandmother had a "scare" and took my sister and I along to her mammogram so that we may gain more knowledge. My paternal grandmother died from breast cancer that metastasize to brain cancer which led to her death. Early detection is key to living a long live.
