Splash Math Apps For Learning Fun

This app is not only fun and exciting, my child is learning.  Being on the autism spectrum, he faces many challenges.  But his app is user friendly so he is able to navigate the colorful graphics and LEARN a new skill.  I absolutely love the he loves this app.  Although he knows some of the skills he still loves it and I love that it reinforces what he has learned.

One of the most important things you could buy for your children as they develop [through any stage] is a good pair of SHOES and when it comes to the best, KidOFit really have raised the bar!

Not only are KidOFit shoes beautifully designed and a real treat to look at, but they are comfortable, good fitting and healthily designed for the best feel and use, while brightening up those tootsies at any occasion!

I received a pair of high topped shoes (Tulip) from KidOFit this past week and I was impressed with them before I even opened the box! The presentation of the shoes in their cute little box, neatly wrapped with tissue paper made them feel very special and my daughter was excited to get to the shoes!

The shoes, which are purple colored high-top shoes, with a pretty floral embellishment on the easy to use strap closure!

Inside the box, alongside the shoes, comes 2 sets of inserts, which are designed to make the fit of the shoe much better by either using 1 insole or the other, which provide a slightly different fit, OR both insoles together for a third fit all-together!

My daughter is a size 8 to 8.5 and so I ordered the 8.5 and we used both inserts inside the shoe to make them a nice, cozy fit!

This particular design is so pretty that they can dress up an outfit for an occasion or be worn every day as a well-fitting, practical-yet-pretty shoe! KidOFit shoes also have a Barefoot Sole™ design with a unique, thin, flexible TPU for natural motion akin to walking with bare-feet!

KidOFit shoes do not stop there, either! The soles of these shoes have a clear design so that it is easy to see where the child's feet/toes land at the end of the shoes to make sure that they have a properly fitting shoe! Overall I am so thoroughly impressed by these shoes and feel that they are so worth the money you pay to buy them! We start our days with caffeine.  Some sit in the drive thru lane at their favorite coffee shops, and some like to enjoy a cup from home.  Either way, you love that liquid deliciousness that we want/enjoy/just plain NEED!  This holiday I am brewing up some Brooklyn Bean Roastery's coffee!

We believe that in coffee making, as in life there, are rules that need to be followed (wadaya mean I can’t park here?!?) Our simple rule for good coffee making is that what you put into it is exactly what you’ll get out of it and our goal is to consistently get the best-tasting cup of coffee around from our process.

Brooklyn Bean Roastery has so many options when it comes to what flavor you'd like to try.  I am lucky enough to have the Variety Pack at my finger tips.  Flavors like Breakfast Blend, Coney Island Caramel, Fuhgeddaboutit, , Hazelnut, and Vanilla Skyline can be found in this pack.  This isn't all of the options though.  So many to name, I'd be here for a bit!  You can always just check out the options yourself!  

Our of all of the flavors in this pack, I've found Hazelnut to be my favorite.  I like the nuttiness in the flavor.  I add a little almond milk and sugar to my cup, but the hazelnut flavor is perfect!  Next up, I enjoy the Maple Sleigh.  This was almost like I was enjoying a cup of coffee with a little bit of pancake syrup added!

Bake Me A Wish Gourmet Brownies

We have had giveaways for hams, steaks and much more.  here is something to appeal to your sweet tooth!  GOURMET BROWNIES!!!

The holidays are usually the sweetest time of the year. That is especially true if you give or receive a fabulous gourmet food gift from Bake Me A Wish. I recently had the pleasure or destroying my diet on an incredible One Dozen Gourmet Brownies Assortment.

I always feel guilty when I break my diet. Afterwards I always feel like it wasn't worth it. With these it really was worth it. They are so delicious. Well actually. I cannot speak to how the brownies taste. I am more of a blondie fan, and my husband addicted to brownies, so he ate all of them.

This assortment has 2 each of 4 amazing brownies and 2 fabulous blondies, so it was perfect for us. The flavors are:

As I already mentioned, the blondies were divine. The Orange Macadamia Coconut was the best blondie I ever tasted, and I have tasted a lot.

As fantastic as both blondie flavors were, I am actually glad there was only 4 in this assortment. Had there been 12, hubby would not have gotten any and none of my clothes would fit, and I still would have no regrets.

My husband loved the brownies though, so I am glad I did not have to deprive him. He is a chocolate lover to the highest extreme, and these were able to satisfy his chocolate sweet tooth. His favorites were the Velvet Ganache and Cheesecake ones, but he had all 8 brownies gone within 2 days.

I don't usually get him food gifts, because he always just gets the food he wants anyway, and I figured a food gift would not be anything special, but after seeing him obsess over these brownies, I know that I will be getting him some goodies from bake Me A Wish this year. I definitely need to get him a larger assortment though so maybe it will last 3 days this time.

Autumn Leaves Cake Pops

Ingredients

1 (16.5-ounce) Box Duncan Hines Butter Golden Cake Mix
2/3 cup Cream Cheese Frosting
1 bag Vanilla Candy Melts or Wafers
2 (14-ounce) bags Red Candy Melts or Wafers
1 (14-ounce) bag Yellow Candy Melts or Wafers
Vegetable Oil
Lollipop Sticks
Treat bags
Ribbon
Large piece of Styrofoam
Foil

Directions

Lay out a couple of ungreased pans, set aside. Cover a large piece of Styrofoam with foil, set aside. Prepare and bake cake according to package directions. Remove from oven and let cool completely. Break apart cake and place in a large bowl, then crumble completely. Stir in frosting, then blend together with hands until you have the texture of play-doh. Melt a small amount of vanilla candy wafers in a small bowl, set aside. With hands, mold cake into the shapes of a leaf. Dip tip of lollipop stick into melted candy, then insert a little ways into the leaf. Lay flat on pan. Repeat until all dough is used. *You will need to melt your vanilla candy wafers every so often to continue use. Place in fridge for 1 hour. Add water to the bottom of a double boiler, then add 1 bag of red candy wafers to the top and turn to medium heat. Add 1 tablespoon vegetable oil to thin the wafers and add more if the candy seems too thick. In a small bowl, add ¼ cup yellow candy wafers along with 1 teaspoon vegetable oil. Heat in the microwave stirring every 30 seconds until completely melted. Once the red wafers are completely melted, add the yellow and swirl with a knife to create lines. Remove 5 cake pops at a time from the fridge. Dip the cake pop in the melted candy. Use a spoon to drizzle the candy coating near the stick. Tap on the side of the pan to remove excess candy, then use finger to smooth out the back. Melt candy wafers as needed to continue use. Save leftover hardened candy in bowl, set aside. Let cake pops sit overnight to set. Reheat leftover hardened candy in bowl and use to seal any cracks in coating. Place back in styrofoam to harden. Place a treat bag over each cake pop and tie with ribbon

Crock Pot Apple Crisp

6-8 Red apples, peeled, cored and sliced

1 tsp lemon juice
1/4 cup brown sugar
2/3 cup flour
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
2/3 cup quick cooking oats
1 stick butter, softened, not melted

Toss diced apples in lemon juice then place in bottom of greased crockpot. Mix all the dry ingredients. Add in butter. Mix until crumbly. Top the apples. Place two  paper towels on top of crockpot to help with moisture. Cover. Cook on high 2-1/2hrs. Serve with vanilla ice cream or cool whip

Rose Champagne (chilled)
¼ cup Sliced Strawberries
1 2/3 cups Sugar
1 cup Water

Cut strawberries into slices equaling ¼ cup and set aside. In a 3 quart pot and over medium heat, combine sugar and 1 cup water. Cook while stirring for 3 minutes. Add strawberry slices and bring just to a boil, then reduce to low heat and cook while stirring occasionally for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and place in the fridge until chilled. Remove from fridge, discard strawberry slices. Place a small amount of strawberry simple syrup in the bottom of each cocktail glass. Top each glass off with champagne. Enjoy!

Strawberry Kool-Aid Pie

The July 4th holiday is upon us and I cannot think of a better dessert to make for our Independence Day Celebration!  

Strawberry Kool-Aid Pie

Ingredients:

1 (9-inch) uncooked Graham Cracker Pie Crust
1 (8-ounce) package Cream Cheese (softened)
1 (14-ounce) can Sweetened Condensed Milk
2 Egg Yolks
1 (.14-ounce) packet Strawberry Kool-Aid
1 (8-ounce) container frozen Whip Topping (thawed)

Directions:

In a large mixing bowl and with an electric mixer, beat cream cheese while add condensed milk. Beat in egg yolks. Beat in strawberry kool-aid until smooth and creamy. Pour into pie crust. Bake at 350 degrees on the 3rd rack for 25 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool on a wire rack for 1 hour. Place in the fridge to set for 3 hours. Remove and top with whip topping. Place back in fridge for 3 hours to set.

Identity Theft Protection

Identity theft has become more and more prevalent nowadays.  I have personally been a victim of identity theft.  My bank account information was used to make a purchase at a store I had never even visited, in a state that war  far away from me.

Thankfully, I saw he charge on my bank count and notified my bank right away.  They mailed me a form to sign verifying that I had not made the purchase and I had to mail it back to my bank.  This sounds easy enough to do, but the mailing back and forth takes time and that is more time the thief has with my information.
