I am always looking for different ways to teach my child since he has autism.  While he has some deficits in different areas, he has always had a love for science.  He receives services from my local school district, along with what resources I can find online.

I found an excellent self-paced online homeschool science classes and labs course.  It has been GREAT for my son, Zach.  He can work at his own pace and we can start and stop the videos, as needed.  Being able to self-pace is KEY to my child and this course is perfect for him.

Greg Landry College Prep Science is the way to go for my student.  I want my child to learn and achieve.  And to do so at his own pace. 

The classes are fun and informative and always start with a prayer(we all need a little prayer).  Homeschooling parents should check this out and during this time of so many kids at home, this is the perfect time to enroll.  Or, if your child needs more or even wants more science education, this is perfect.

In collaboration with a world renowned jewelry designer, Anna Hu, and Christie’s auction house, Diamonds That Care raised funds to provide financial and emotional support to the families of frontline healthcare workers who lost their lives in the fight to save ours. This collaboration raised $338,781 from the sale of three rare diamond jewelry pieces designed by Anna Hu. Proceeds from the auction were donated to The Brave Heart fund, a foundation that provides financial care and comfort to families of frontline workers and volunteers.

In hopes to make the world a little bit brighter during this time of need, Diamonds That Care continues to show their compassion by providing essential services and supplies to people who need it the most. Covid-19 may have brought dark times with it, but Diamonds That Care is doing its best to bring back some light.

Who would have thought diamonds could have such a powerful impact on the everyday lives of people affected by the pandemic?

Keep those Ugly Christmas Sweaters Clean and Fresh with Dryel

Getting your vehicle ready for a road trip

 More and more people are taking road trips during the pandemic.  That means we will be in our vehicles much more.  I think that is a great way to take a trip.  But, what do you do to get your car ready?

Oil Change

 I follow my parent's advice on this and get the oil changed before taking any long run trip. It just makes sense.  Fresh oil and a new filter assure your engine will be running smoothly.

Tires

You need to check the tread and the air pressure in all tires.  If the tread is low, go ahead and buy new tires.  And, on the day you leave, go around and check the air pressure manually with a tire gauge to ensure your tires are properly inflated.

Fluid Levels

Check the levels in your transmission fluid.  Check your engine coolant.  Check your windshield washer fluid level.  There is nothing like going down the road and you realize you have no windshield washer fluid to clean your windshield

Clean your vehicle

Wash the outside of your vehicle and clean and vacuum the inside.  Don't forget the trunk!  It feels so much better when your vehicle is clean and you can see what space you have for luggage, coolers, and comfort items.  I always take a blanket and pillow! 

Fuel it up

I always go the night before and fill my car up. That way, we are ready to go the next morning and not have the unnecessary stop for gas! 

Check your trunk

Make sure you have a spare tire and jack.  I also always take a small tool kit for minor repairs, along with a flashlight and jumper cables. I also keep a full first aid kit in my trunk and a small one inside of the car.

Being fully prepared for your road trip assures you won't have to worry about any surprises.  And, if you do have any surprises, you have what you need to make this a great road trip for your entire family!

There is a common misconception that adult parties have to be either completely “bowtie and little black dress” formal, or a roller coaster of cocktails and free spirits that will keep you lying down in bed for the rest of the weekend. Approach a party like any big project: Sit down and get down to the planning. Make a list of friends to invite, and think about what you want to serve your guests. But you can also prepare a pick and mix buffet, with a lot of fresh vegetables, sauces, and a few healthy proteins and leave it to each guest to prepare their plate. Make sure to have your food planned a few days before the party is due.
