Protect Your Clothes With These Easy Cleaning Hacks

Nothing boosts your confidence quite as much as putting on your favorite outfit; the one that emphasises all your best features and draws attention away from the ones don’t make you feel as good. Nothing is quite as devastating as spilling an unforgiving fluid on it. You always find yourself wondering if it can be easily removed, or if your favorite outfit is lost forever.
Never fear! With these easy cleaning hacks, you will never lose another good pair of jeans again.
Keep colors bright
It’s sad when the bright colors on your favorite shirts fade after a few too many washes. But there is a really simple solution to keep the colors brighter for longer; add ½ a cup of salt to your laundry. The chloride in salt helps keeps clothes bright by sealing in the color across repeated washings.
Unshrink clothes
Save yourself the hassle of having to buy new dresses online every time one of them shrinks in the wash. Soak your shrunken items in a solution of water and conditioner for 15 minutes. Once it’s soaked, pat dry with a towel, then lightly stretch the fabric to add length. Handwash to get rid of any conditioner stains.
No more grease
The toughest stain of all has finally met its match in the form of chalk and talcum powder. Both of these white substances can easily absorb the oil in a few minutes. No washing necessary.
Not too much wine
There are many solutions that claim to effectively get rid of red wine stains. As long as you attempt to clear the stain as soon as possible, any of the solutions out there will work, including milk, baking soda, salt, or even white wine. Once the item of clothing has been treated, wash as usual.
The great outdoors
There isn’t much out there that vinegar can’t clean. Soak your jeans in undiluted vinegar for 30 minutes, then wash as usual. If the stains are still there, mix a paste of vinegar and baking soda, then use a toothbrush and elbow grease to try and lift the stain. Once you see some improvement, wash it again.
Sweat it off
Just because you appreciate the effects of a good workout on your body, doesn’t mean you’d like the evidence to stay on your clothes. Fortunately, there are several ways to remove sweat stains from your favorite gym outfit. The most common solutions involve either table salt, lemon juice, baking soda, or white vinegar.
Morning coffee
Immediately rinse fresh coffee stains with cold water. Once you’re home, apply detergent directly to the stain and rub the cloth together with cold water. Soak in the water for 30 minutes, rubbing the cloth together every five to 10 minutes. Next, wash clothing on the hottest setting.
Remove ink stains
There are few disasters quite like the exploding pen that stains your business shirt. Hairspray or hand sanitizer should eliminate that tough mark. Just wait 10 minutes after spraying or squirting it on, and wash as normal.
