How To Get a Good Night's Sleep

4 Ways to Overcome Pitfalls as a Blogger

Being a blogger is hard work.   When you first start,  everything is rainbows and sprinkles.  But, there will become a time when you need to take a step back and reassess.,  You have to have dedication to your blog, but you also want a life outside your blog.  It is so easy to get caught up in the whirlwind of blogging and lose focus on you and your family.  I know I did.  

Schedule

You have to set a work schedule.  This is a MUST.  Just like any other job,you work a specific amount of hours.  being a blogger gives us the flexibility to choose which hours, but I find it much easier to have a schedule, especially if you have kids..  I choose to do the majority of my work when kids are in school.  I do have the occasion when I have to work at night or the weekends, but it is usually a short time for me to finish up a project or edit some photos.

Networking

It is key to find like minded individuals in the blogging world.  There are so many groups on Facebook with members that are willing to help you grow.  Whether it be for your specific niche or a group of entrepreneurs, you have to network with these people.  There is a lot of information to be found in these groups.  You have to take the time to be an active participant.  Many of these groups tell you when the next blog conference is,which conference they think is best, etc.  Go to at least one conference you fell best meets your needs.  You will be happy that you did.


Don't be afraid to ask questions

 If you have a question, ask it,  Many fear the question may make them look less knowledgeable,  Hey,m we all started out with zero blog posts.,  I ask questions in the hopes I may get several ideas and not just one solid answer.   Sometimes a question is a way to get ideas and not just a technical, how to you install this widget or plugin,

Know your worth

This is the number one thing I want female entrepreneurs to know,  Their worth.  And it is up to you to decide how much you will charge for a story or a social media post.  Their are many tools to help guide you, but only you know what it is worth to you.  I use The Social Blue Book for guidance.  I have worked with brands for free, hoping that if a I did a good job they would come back to me when I pitched the next time with my rates.
