Summer Self Care

This is a sponsored post on behalf of Superior Source Vitamins.

As a young man Ron Beckenfeld, the owner of Superior Source Vitamins, was into fitness, always worked out, and wanted to stay healthy. So finding the right vitamins seemed like the perfect fit for him when deciding to go into business.

Ron started selling vitamins out of the trunk of his car in 1964 and in 1969 he started Continental Vitamin Company; it became a life-long passion to establish a supplement company that cares about health.

In 1998 he started Superior Source MicroLingual® due to his concern about his father’s Parkinson’s condition. “When my father developed Parkinson’s, he already had a heart condition. I realized he had problems swallowing traditional large tablets, which inspired me to find a way to help my dad and others who had similar problems swallowing the vitamins they needed.”

“My dad had nitroglycerine tablets, which are very small and dissolve instantly, and he asked me why I couldn’t make vitamins like these. This was the “ah-ha!” moment that started the evolution of instant dissolving tablets, and Superior Source was born.”

Ron started with a B-12 quick-dissolving soft-molded tablet. He continued to develop an entire line of clean and pure MicroLingual® instant-dissolve tablets where users didn’t have to worry about swallowing.

“So here I am 50+ years later, still passionate and profoundly providing people with vitamin tablets that are easy to take anywhere with no water necessary and absorbed quickly into their systems.”

How I Accidentally Got Hooked on Cooking Games (and Learned a Few Real-Life Skills Too)

I’ve always been a bit of a food nerd. Whether it’s obsessing over the perfect pasta dough texture or watching food documentaries late into the night, I’m all in. But between balancing work, life, and trying to keep the kitchen from looking like a science experiment gone wrong, there’s not always time to dive into a new recipe or technique.

That’s where I stumbled onto something surprisingly fun: browser-based cooking games.

I wasn’t actively looking for games. It just happened one afternoon when I had a few minutes to spare between meetings. I ended up on CulinarySchools.org, which is already a great resource if you’re into food, culinary education, or just like poking around for fun food content. I noticed a section with free online cooking games and clicked purely out of curiosity.

Next thing I knew, I was flipping virtual pancakes in a game called Cooking Street, organizing ingredients like a pro in Cooking Fever, and even running a sushi bar. I wasn’t expecting much, but I was immediately hooked. The games are surprisingly smooth to play, completely free, and best of all, they don’t bombard you with ads every time you do something. Everything happens right there on the site with no downloads or pop-ups to ruin the vibe.

And believe it or not, they sneak in a few useful skills while you’re playing. Time management, multitasking, and staying organized are all part of the gameplay. Sure, stacking burgers or frosting cupcakes in a game isn’t the same as working in a real kitchen, but it definitely activates the cooking part of your brain. Plus, it’s a pretty fun way to introduce kids to food prep concepts or to unwind without mindlessly scrolling through your phone.

I even found myself thinking about dinner ideas after playing a burger game. That was when I realized the games had a little more impact than I expected. They’re lighthearted but still connect to real kitchen energy. You start feeling the rhythm of prepping, serving, and planning meals even in a digital world.

If you’re someone who loves food but doesn’t always have the time or energy to cook, or just want something quick and satisfying to do during a break, these games are worth a look. Whether you’re managing a pizza place, decorating cakes, or racing the clock to serve customers, it’s a fun and easy way to keep your foodie spark alive.

And who knows, maybe playing a few rounds will inspire you to finally try that new recipe you bookmarked three weeks ago. I say give it a shot. You might be surprised where it takes you.

Happy cooking, on screen or in the kitchen.
