My boys and I would do a large puzzle every year and start it on Thanksgiving day. We would do a little at a time putting in the last piece on Christmas Eve. That would allow us time to spend time together every day as a family talking and enjoying each other. Not just on those two days , but everyday in between. We would each share something about our day and laugh and tell jokes. It was real bonding time together.
