SKINCARE 101: BAD HABITS YOU NEED TO QUIT

To get all scientifical for a second, your skin is your biggest and most exposed organ, which should be enough to convince you that taking care of it is pretty essential (read: of the utmost importance). However, way too many people fall short in the skin care arena. You would think taking care of your skin would be easy and revered, yet so many people a) don’t realize what they are doing is wrong or b) don’t even know what they need to be doing to their skin.

That is why we have pulled together what experts are calling The Ultimate Skincare Guide. Okay, so that’s not exactly true, but these top tips on how to look after your epidermis are.

Baz Luhrmann Was Right: Wear Sunscreen
How many times do you need to hear people tell you to wear sunscreen before it will eventually sink in? The sun is great, don’t get us wrong, but too much of a good thing can be bad, which is why you need to be generous with the amount of sunscreen you wear. If you don’t, well, you are playing a pretty dicey game where the jackpot prize will either be skin cancer, actinic keratosis, hyperpigmentation and skin so leathery it sags.

Your Deodorant Is Making Your Skin Irritable

News flash: not all deodorant is born equal. We know this may be a hard pill to swallow, but if you are using just any old deodorant then you may well be using a deodorant that harbors aluminum. Stop doing this right away and go get yourself the best aluminum free deodorant money can by. Why? Simple. Aluminium has been linked to some pretty severe conditions, like breast cancer, bone disorders, kidney issues and even Alzheimer's. Point made.

Why Are You Still Sleeping In Your Makeup?
It doesn’t matter how tired you are, how many glasses of wine you sipped on what time it is when you finally get back from work, it is not okay to sleep in your makeup. Even if it is that nice mineral makeup the lady over the counter sold you. While you are catching up on your sleep, your skin needs to be breathing in air and releasing toxins, which it can’t-do when covered in makeup. So, before your eyes close for the night, grab a wipe and cleanse well.

Moisturizing Really Does Matter
It doesn’t matter where you live, your skin will find a way to dry out if possible, which is bad. It is also why your skin needs humectants, which it can find quite hard to get naturally a lot of the time. If the air outside is dry, then you are in trouble. If you use air conditioning inside, then you are in trouble. If you use the heaters in your car, then you are in trouble. That is why you need to make sure you are
always moisturizing. It doesn’t matter whether you have oily skin or what doctors would call “normal skin”, moisturizer will help keep your skin in balance.

I purchased a family-sized  jar of RAGÚ Cheese Creations Classic Alfredo Pasta Sauce during a recent shopping trip at Publix.   I easily found it on the aisle with the pasta sauces, right next to all my favorite RAGÚ varieties.  RAGÚ Classic Alfredo is a thick, creamy Alfredo sauce that’s packed with Parmesan and Romano cheeses. It is made with real cheese and fresh cream so it is bursting with flavor. It is great on a variety of dishes including Chicken Alfredo.

I decided to make this yummy Baked Chicken and Broccoli Alfredo.  It is a simple recipe using ingredients I know my family loves and I hope yours does, too.

Ingredients:

4 boneless, skinless chicken thighs
10 ounce bag  frozen broccoli
21.5 ounce jar of  RAGÚ Cheese Creations Classic Alfredo Pasta Sauce
2 cups of grated Italian Blend Cheese.

Instructions
Start by laying  the chicken thighs in a  2 1/2 quart casserole dish.  Salt and pepper to the chicken to your taste.  Put the bag of  frozen broccoli on top of the chicken making sure to separate each piece.  Pour the entire jar of RAGÚ Cheese Creations Classic Alfredo Pasta Sauce over the top, making sure to cover to chicken and broccoli.  Sprinkle the cheese on top. Put in a 350 degree oven for an hour, until cheese is melted and is golden on top.   Let  cool 10 minutes before serving.

I hope you have enjoyed this recipe!  Make sure to check out the BOGO Event at Publix and purchase the 21.5 ounce family size jars RAGÚ Cheese Creations Classic Alfredo Pasta Sauce !

My Town: Pets , An App For Kids

This is a sponsored post.

I had the opportunity to review the app My Town: Pets.    This is an app for kids that you can buy on Google Play Or iOS.  It is rated E for everyone.

The app is designed for kids who have pets or going to adopt a pet.  The dogs bark, the cats meow and the birds chirp.  My son really enjoyed hearing the sounds of the animals.

You adopt your pet from the My Town Animal Shelter.  You can choose the member of the family you want to do all the tasks with the pet,  Of course, we chose a boy that looked like him.  Your first stop is the My Town vet for a check up.   You can also take your pet for a spa day,  My son picked a dog,  After the vet, he took the dog to the spa,  He was able to use the interactive tools to wash his dog,

You can take your dog to the park! I love how this app emulates role play and the fact that you are caring for a pet.  The spa lets you get things like clothing or cool collars.

My Town: Pets is a great app to have to entertain your child and teach them the way to care for their pets.  It is not all fun and games, especially when you have to pick up the dog's mess in the app.  That is a reality!

Taking care of a pet can be fun, but we must teach our youngsters that there is more to caring for a pet than just feeding and walking them.  This app does exactly that.

It is available on Google Play and Itunes for $2.99.    If you are thinking about adopting a pet, I recommend getting this app for your child.  Download now and give your child a good life experience.
